Location: The Columbia Club
121 Monument Circle, Indianapolis, Indiana
Introduction:
This meeting is to strategize an approach for each state being considered. It is recognized that some states have more/less activity than others. The people/companies listed below are not expected to be presenters, but discussion leaders. This meeting is for full and affiliate member company employees only, except where NAESCO has specifically invited a key ally for our industry. Space is limited to 60 people and 2 representatives per company.
Agenda (all times Eastern Time):
11:00 AM - Discussions with Ryan Hadley, Executive Director of the Indiana Office of Energy Development and the State’s Chief Energy Officer; and Matt Long, Vice President from the Indiana Energy Association, will join us through lunch. They will give a short talk about what they see happening and updates they can share. Bring your questions, as it will be an informal time for them to speak with us.
Ryan Hadley is the Executive Director of the Indiana Office of Energy Development and the State’s Chief Energy Officer. Appointed by Governor Eric Holcomb on January 24, 2022, Ryan leads the OED in supporting the development of affordable and reliable energy solutions for Hoosiers through three main priorities: energy policy guidance to the executive branch, grant administration, and public education.
Prior to the Office of Energy Development, Ryan served as the Executive Director of External Affairs at the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission. In that capacity, he led the Commission’s legislative, media, and stakeholder management strategies and advised the Commission on related issues. He also oversaw the Consumer Affairs Division, which provides dispute resolution services to customers and utilities. Additionally, he directed the disbursement strategy of the Underground Plant Protection Account fund, intended to raise awareness of Indiana’s 811 Law and provide education on safe digging practices.
Ryan is a graduate of the University of Southern Indiana located in Evansville. He and his family reside in Bargersville.
Matt Long serves as the Vice President of the Indiana Energy Association. In this role, he works closely with IEA members, government officials and stakeholders on a variety of different issues affecting the energy industry.
Prior to joining the Indiana Energy Association, Long served as the Director of External & Legislative Affairs for AT&T Indiana. In this capacity, he worked closely with community and business leaders, elected officials, and colleagues to advance technologies such as high-speed broadband, mobile connectivity, and the FirstNet public safety communications platform across Indiana. His role also involved focusing on AT&T’s legislative and public policy priorities at the Statehouse.
Before his tenure at AT&T, Long was a Vice President at Bose Public Affairs Group. There, he represented clients on a broad range of legislative and regulatory issues at the Indiana General Assembly, state government agencies, and local governments across the state. He also has experience as a legislative assistant for the Indiana House of Representatives.
Long is a graduate of Indiana University-Bloomington and earned his law degree at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. Long has served two terms on the Board of Directors of the Governmental Affairs Society of Indiana and is the current President of the organization. He is a graduate of the FBI Citizens Academy and the Indiana Leadership Forum.
