Little Rock School District Electric Bus Fleet

Little Rock School District completed one of Arkansas’s largest electric school bus deployments, advancing clean transportation while improving ride quality and air quality for students served by district-operated routes. With support from Entegrity Energy Partners, LRSD secured $9.875 million through the EPA’s inaugural Clean School Bus Program Grants Competition—earning selection as one of only 67 awardees nationwide.

While funded through federal grant dollars, the project was executed under an amendment to LRSD’s existing Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) and Solar Services Agreement, allowing the district to leverage Entegrity’s established ESPC delivery framework to efficiently plan, design, and implement the project.

SCOPE

- Replacement of 25 diesel school buses with 25 Class C electric school buses

- Installation of 10 60kW Level 3 power control systems, sequentially supplying power to 28 chargers

- Smart charging infrastructure designed to support current operations and future fleet expansion

- Utility coordination, engineering, and infrastructure planning delivered under an amended ESPC

APPROACH

Entegrity supported LRSD from grant strategy through implementation, coordinating engineering, utility engagement, vendor evaluation, and infrastructure planning. Leveraging existing ESPC contracting mechanisms enabled a streamlined transition from grant award to deployment while minimizing administrative burden and ensuring technical readiness.

The completed system supports daily transportation serving more than 450 students across 25 schools, including routes serving students with disabilities and special needs.
