SUMMARY:Webinar - Benefits of a Low Voltage Transformer ECM in Performance Contracting
DESCRIPTION:The primary goal of the Low Voltage Transformer ECM is increased energy savings through replacement of old\, inefficient transformers with new\, ultra-high efficient transformers. While facilities can be unique\, electrical infrastructure is almost always based on U.S. industry standard transformers. Transformers are typically purchased as part of a total electrical distribution package\, installed\, and forgotten for 40- 50 years. The majority of these transformers are operating at a small fraction of their nameplate capacity\, resulting in very low efficiency\, and are producing large amounts of excess heat\, resulting in energy losses and higher utility costs. In addition\, half of all existing transformers\, according to the Dept. of Energy\, are approaching a mean time to failure of 32 years. Replacing these units prior to a sudden end of life\, results in lower risk of facility down time and energy savings to the customer.\nPresentersSeth Bosch\, National Sales & BD Manager\, Socomec\nLearning Objectives:Describe the history of manufacturing low voltage dry type transformers and the historical lack of efficiency legislation/standards.Explain current energy efficiency standards and where the market is leading to and why.Evaluate the goals and benefits of assessing the LV Transformer ECM on a Performance Contract.Apply methods to evaluate\, audit\, and baseline existing transformers in an ESPC.\nNAESCO has submitted this webinar to the AIA for 1 CEU approval. NOTE: Beginning in 2023\, all NAESCO webinars will be offered to all attendees at no cost. Recordings and slides will be available to members only\, after the webinar.
