Webinar - What Are the Window Retrofit Solution Options and How Can I Know They Perform?
Monday, February 24, 2025 (2:00 PM - 3:00 PM) (EST)
Description
Window retrofits have largely focused on applied window film over the past couple decades. You may wonder “How has window film technology changed in recent years” or “What about window retrofits and U-Value?”
This session will introduce several new developments for window retrofits including window replacement, exterior solar window film technologies, Low E window film, and window inserts.
Window retrofits and associated savings will be presented as engineered improvements to building efficiency through accurately characterizing existing glass and using that engineering data in subsequent whole-building energy modeling and M&V.
As a company in final Field Validations with GSA Green Proving Ground (GPG), NGS has the information for you to answer the questions “What are the window retrofit solution options and how can I know they perform?”.
Presenters:
Mark Carlson, Director of Engineering, NGS and Ken Patterson, Director of Sustainability Solutions, NGS
Learning Objectives:
1. Understand current drivers and scope of sustainable, efficient, building retrofits
2. Understand technology types available for improving building window sustainability and resilience
3. Understand how to characterize existing glazing to maximize accuracy of improvement forecasts
4. Identify appropriate technology applications based on current building glazing shortcomings
